TAMPA, Fla., – In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Florida’s Oldest Restaurant ℠, the original Columbia Restaurant in Tampa’s Ybor City offers a captivating performance by The Columbia Restaurant Dance Troupe, led by Artistic Director, Maria Sevilla. This group of talented dancers performs every night except Sunday. All shows are performed at the Columbia Ybor City location at 2117 East 7th Avenue. Call 813-248-4961 for reservations.

The flamenco, one of Spain’s traditional dances consisting of rhythmic dance steps performed on a hard wood floor, originated with the Spanish Gypsies and has evolved through the years to the more structured form we have become familiar with. The classical Spanish dances consist of ballet moves in colorful Spanish costumes accompanied by the sound of castanets.

The music, the costumes, and the passion of the dancers transport the audience to another part of the world. The Columbia Restaurant Dance Troupe brings the culture and dance traditions of Spain to Ybor City as a complement to the internationally acclaimed Spanish cuisine of the Columbia Restaurant. They have been performing at Columbia Restaurant since 1985. There is a $8 cover charge per person for the show.
